The Wales Gene Park Engagement Team had an excellent day at the Heath and Care Research Wales Involving People Network Annual meeting at the Cardiff City stadium on 1st March 2017. The event, entitled Your voice: why it matters – how public involvement shapes the research pathway in Wales, was a great opportunity to meet with members of the public and network with colleagues.

As well as highlighting the work of the Wales Gene Park our interactive stand, visited by many delegates throughout the day, featured several hands-on activities including our popular DNA sequence bracelets. A number of attendees also signed up to our Patient and Public Networks to become involved in future events and initiatives. Following an excellent programme of talks and workshops, the day ended with the award for the Most Engaging Stand, which the Wales Gene Park was delighted to win for the second year running.
